8 Easy Ways to Decorate for Fall

8 Simple & Easy Ways to Transform your living spaces for fall

Oh fall sweet fall! Goodness, this year has been a bit much for us all, so I am absolutely looking forward to much sweeter and happier times in my personal favorite trifecta – fall, Christmas and New Year. Speaking of all things fall, I love it all! The decorating, the fall weekend activities, and the pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING. Of course, it all begins in the home and after years of fall home tours, I am bringing you lovely readers 8 easy ways to decorate for fall!

1.Fall Faux Foliage

One of my favorite simple and easy ways to decorate for fall includes complimenting a living space with touches of fall faux foliage. Fall foliage can be subtle or overwhelming, yet provide a way to consistently welcome this favorite season. My personal favorite location to shop fall (and really all seasonal foliage) is most definitely the home decor section at Target. Thank you home sweet Magnolia section.

2. Pumpkin Obsession

I have a thing for pumpkins. I love at the beginning of the fall season (well lets be honest, at the end of summer when all the fall decor is making its way out). I LOVE checking out the latest and greatest pumpkin selection and I always add a few more to my fall collection. My personal favorites are always the velvet mini pumpkins in the Target dollar spot as well as the cute chevron pumpkins from Kirklands. Of course Home Goods always has a stellar selection. Goodness, I do love pumpkins!

3. Fall Pillow Talk

Pillows make my heart (and my sweet pup Shiloh’s heart oh so happy) As I am writing this, Shiloh is curled up as cute as can be on the pillows. Seasonal pillows are a must and that is definitely a fact when it comes to fall decor. Linked my favorites below!

4. Wreaths Everywhere

I am a firm believer in placing a wreath anywhere! For instance, over the window by the kitchen sink.. yes. On a mirror in the dining room, of course! What about over the bay window in the kitchen, absolutely! Entryway, most definitely. More wreaths the happier is my personal opinion and of course I am not even including the wreath on the front door. Always love the wreaths in the Target Hearth + Hand line. Kirkland’s also has amazing wreaths each season.

5. Lanterns

My long-lasting decor tradition within the gracefulandfree home are most definitely lanterns. Lanterns are so versatile and great for every season. My personal preference is to stage different seasonal decor inside each lantern based on time of year. Whether that is fresh spring florals for spring to summer, fall foliage or candles in fall, and ornaments for the greatest time of the year, lanterns provide a special touch. Kirkland’s is by far my most favorite place to shop all things lanterns and they are almost always running a sale!

6. Oversized Fall Signs

Probably my most consistent decor item through all the seasons consist of oversized farmhouse signs. I love all the positive, happy, and inspiring decor and love having them staged throughout various portions of our home. My favorite places to shop for farmhouse signs include Kirklands, Home Goods, and Smallwood Home. I have linked my current seasonal favorites below for your shopping pleasure!

7. Love in a coffee mug

Love in a coffee mug. If it is possible to have a love language centered around all things coffee and cute coffee mugs then that is me! What better way to support a hobby of cute coffee mug collection than incorporating all things coffee mug into your holiday decor. Seriously though, I urge you to give it a try! Coffee mugs make for great seasonal decor. Add in some floral or fall favorite candies and you are a match made in caffeinated heaven.

8. All things cozy

This may just be my favorite tidbit for all things fall decorating. Fall, the season for all things comfy and cozy. Yes, I am talking about all the fall coffee mugs, blankets, and just all things comfort. Bring on the Trader Joe’s harvest tee, pumpkin cinnamon rolls, fall scented (+toxin free candles) and more! As always, my go to for all things coffee mug is my sweet friend Rachel over at Rachel Allene. Trust me, you will also flip over her mugs and jump for joy as you go for your morning cup.

Well friends, that is all! So glad you are here and I hope you find some sort of inspiration for your fall decorating needs! Writing seasonal content is always my favorite and fall home decor posts are always included in my top posts every year. If ya want to head down a rabbit hole then check out last year’s and the year prior’s fall holiday home tours! As always, much love and joy for you! Thanks for being here and all the support!
