Well friends… FINALLY!! The post you all have been asking for, for weeks is FINALLY live on the blog!! Without further ado.. sharing with you all today… the conclusion to the hunt for our new kitchen table. So excited to share finding our dream kitchen table featuring Woodstock’s one and only, Woodstock Furniture Outlet.
Quick little disclosure before diving on in! All opinions are my own, while this post is sponsored by Woodstock Furniture Outlet all views expressed are surely mine!
Oh where to begin this sweet little story. Well, I guess you can start WAY back to our original hunt for our very first furniture pieces we were planning on using in our first one-bedroom (might I emphasize 750 square foot) Kennesaw apartment.
I remember the fun we had walking through American Signature Furniture (talk about budget) and picked out our leather sectional and basic (I mean very basic and practical) brown, round, kitchen table.
Well fast forward six years and one sweet pup later (cue the irony!) our lovely kitchen table had seen it all. The entire base and corners of the chairs were entirely chewed. And the chairs were absolutely worn in. In fact, the last year or so, whenever guests would be over they would always comment on how wiggly the chair was upon sitting. (so sorry dear friends)
So surely, we knew that the time had come to part ways with our beloved, distressed and chewed kitchen table and we were SO eager and excited to transform our heart of the home into something completely new and exciting!
And this is where Woodstock Furniture Outlet comes in! I actually reached out to them via Instagram over the summer seeking a potential collaboration! Being local to Woodstock, Georgia myself, and crazy in love with their store and all of their products, I knew this would be a dream! In fact, I would spend free time on weekends walking through all the inventory at the showroom, dreaming of all the pieces to fill our home with for now and the future, starting with our kitchen.
Well surely, dreams do come true and the collaboration of the year became available and now I get to share with YOU all the fun I had as the hunt for our kitchen table revealed is LIVE!
So, free time was found on the Thursday of Fall Break! I had about four hours of calm between the three AM barre classes I taught and then cross country practice that afternoon! Now, please understand the key irony in all of this – the major factor in our decision in purchasing a new kitchen table was all to do with the fact that we had survived puppy stage and were ready for a new table without any indication of dog status chewed.
Well turns out, exactly one week later… we sure did the thing. And brought home another new puppy. More on that later as I am working on a post all about Milo in the upcoming LIFE update! ANYWAYS.. back to the hunt for the DREAM kitchen table!
So let me brag on Woodstock Furniture Outlet for a second! From the moment you step in the doors, you automatically feel welcome and loved. So many people treat you with kindness and you never feel pressured like you can feel in other furniture store situations. The staff offer you water or coffee and help provide with whatever level of assistance you need!
Woodstock Furniture Outlet has been in the Woodstock community since 1988. And since then has been providing homes all across Georgia with beautiful furnishings and decor to make their house look and feel more like a home.
Their mission statement is extra sweet ~ with a passion and a purpose for serving the Lord, community and customers! And that they absolutely do! From the first walk in the door greeting, to the feeling like you are family when you leave ~ this place is an absolute gem!
I was able to walk around the store taking in all the different displays and kitchen tables and never once felt pressured by any salesperson. Now that is a requirement of a true gem for me.
In addition to the main floor room, towards the back of the store are a few more hidden gems. In the back, not only can you find discounted items, but you can also find a more eclectic and limited edition of furnishings in the Loft!
So. There were a few non negotiable items.
#1. The new kitchen table absolutely had to be rectangular! No more circle or oval, I wanted a table that would absolutely make our kitchen dining space.
#2. Dining room feel! I wanted BIG. A table that would make you stop and look. A place that can fit MANY people. With empty place settings that can be filled for family and friends, and hopefully three future children, God-willing!
#3. White! I really, really had my eyes set on white or grey!
#4. Farmhouse style. Big, chunky and barn wood. Repurposed and reclaimed!
#5. Bench. For the longest time I have dreamed of a kitchen table with a bench as one of the side seating options. And as you can tell based on my options ~ I definitely was leaning towards the benches.
After a couple of hours, I successfully narrowed it down to four tables. All shown below! Fast forward another hour and a very necessary phone call with stylist mother and I knew in fact that the table I originally was crazy about was the one that we were going to have to get!
So what did we go with!? Choice 1? Choice 2? Choice 3? or Choice 4? well keep on scrolling…
Well friends – we made a decision! And I could not be any happier! Our table is the sweetest and has absolutely changed our entire downstairs living space! Ah so in love!!
This was the original table I fell in love with from the first moment I toured the kitchen table aisle! I love the white, distressed barn wood and love the chunky vibe! It is such a statement piece that I am thrilled to host family and friends with for years to come!
So in a crazy turn of event – I decided to go rogue with the kitchen chairs. I just purchased the kitchen table at Woodstock Furniture Outlet and decided to find separate chairs to truly make the kitchen feel my own! And I am so, so happy with how they turned out! You can see the kitchen chairs here, but boy I am in love!
Still experimenting with a few different cornerstone table pieces, however absolutely am in love with the This is Us sign from my favorite Kirkland’s and really love the meaning that the sign embodies.
Because this is truly us! The messy, the real, the raw, the pup cuddles and all the snuggles. This is us and this is the life!
Well friends, we finally have made it! I am so glad that this is now complete and live on the blog!! Our kitchen is still a work in progress as our attention now is focused on finding a pet-friendly rug, new light fixture (and possibly freshly-painted cabinets!) So for now.. stay tuned!
Additionally – if you like what you see here then I guarantee you will absolutely love the fall home tour that is also live on the blog!!
