I have a thing with words. I love words. Words have power. Words have meaning. And the more I love words the more I love to use them. Use the words to make a declaration, a statement, using words to define! The power of words to live a life worthy of greatness. So forget the New Year’s Resolutions, forego the lengthy lists, and say hello to a WORD to live by in 2020.
In addition to words, something else I love is a fresh start. A new year. A Monday. The first of a month. The start of the new season! And what better way to start off a New Year is to cling to a word or words to dedicate the year to. A word to affirm all that the new year will bring! And with words come SO many options. And with the power of words comes the ability to wear the word and declare the truth the word holds every SINGLE day.
Stamped and Finch my absolute favorite, hand – stamped jewelry shop from Athens, Georgia and the heart of the sweetest friend, Lindsey. You can read an earlier post on Stamped and Finch here. I truly love how Stamped and Finch can capture so many emotions in one pretty little thing. And surely Stamped and Finch can capture your Word of 2020 to help continue to inspire you, all year long.
Stamped and Finch. I have a crazy love relationship with Stamped and Finch and I truly LOVE sharing about this sweet business that supports a dear friend’s family and business! I have written a few different S+F posts over the last couple of years and if you want to take a look at gracefulandfree a year ago then check out last year’s Words to Define 2019 post with Stamped and Finch.
There is just something so special and unique about supporting a boss babe and her business and I love giving ALL the love to my sweet friend Lindsey as she absolutely creates magic with her hand stamped and customized jewelry pieces. The perfect additions to celebrate and remember all of life’s most precious moments in the most beautiful way.
Her work is true art and such a beautiful way to display and wear your favorite words every single day. From wrap bracelets to a variety of different styled gold necklaces, the options will make you giddy as you dream about all the SILVER + GOLD.
There is something so incredibly significant about thinking, praying, meditating and then declaring a word for the year! And then once you have that word it becomes an anthem. A banner. A declaration of praise and of all the victories to come. And we need those little things in this messy world of life. We need the glimmer of hope to hold on to, the feeling that things may turn out okay, someday! And words do just that. So I hope that as you think about your word for the year, you feel inspired and connected to your mind, spirit and heart in deeper ways and I truly hope that you are ready and excited for all that 2020 can bring. The victory is yours, choose your word wisely!
Some of my favorite WORDS to live through for 2020 include:
Joy – a feeling of great pleasure and happiness
Revive – give new strength or energy to
Reclaim – retrieve or recover (something previously lost, given, or paid)
Thrive – to prosper, to flourish
Fortify – to strengthen or invigorate (sometone) mentally or physically
Empower – make (someone) stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights
Inspire – give rise to, to fill someone with the urge or ability to do or feel something
Lavish – bestow something in generous or extravagant qualities on
Wilder – to cause to lose one’s way, to lead or drive astray
Inhale – to inhale
Refresh – to give new strength or energy to
Thrive – to prosper, to flourish
Personally, for myself the TWO words that I keep coming back to in my heart for 2020 are JOY and BELONG. Joy because it is my anthem, my heart cry to walk in and be filled with joy. Daily, weekly, monthly. Heck even hourly. And my second word, BELONG, was really revealed in my heart as I worked through this post. A word I carry close to my heart compact with the desire to truly feel apart of something. And I am excited to see where these words take me throughout 2020.
I truly wish you all the best for this year to come. Thank you so much for taking the time to read Words of the Year 2020, I truly hope you were left inspired and encouraged. And if you have a word for 2020, I would be oh so happy to see you share it in comments below! Thanks so much friends. Lots of love!
