Time to actually appreciate the new season, including the little things and the moments that bring the most joy. This is the perfect time to focus on creating your very own fall self-care routine. With the cooler temperatures, and the crisp air, now is the time to take better care of your own mental health and wellness. Sharing with you seasonal fall self care ideas to take your own self-care routine to the next level, in order to feel good about prioritizing yourself this beautiful, fall season.

How to Take Better Care of Yourself – Fall Self-Care Ideas for the Autumn Season

During the autumn season, the best thing you can do for yourself is to make sure you are prioritizing taking care of you. In order to help you in this process, I am sharing ways to really prioritize your fall self-care routine. Specifically, autumn self-care ideas to elevate your own personal self-care routine this season. Therefore, if you need encouragement and a little inspiration to prioritize taking care of you, these self-care tips are just for you!

The Importance of Prioritizing Your Own Self-Care 

There is such an importance to making sure we find the time to truly prioritize taking care of ourselves. And to do so through all the seasonal changes of life. Through the calm seasons and through the crazy seasons. Simply, through every season of life, you deserve to be well taken care of.

Furthermore, it’s so important to make sure that you place a focus on yourself. Because if you’re not taking care of you, well, then everything else around you is going to suffer because you’re not pouring from a good place. Instead, you’re pouring from a deficit. Therefore, in order to pour out to those that are around you, you have to be able to take care of you. In order that you can take that care and that love and that full cup and give it to those around you through love and service.

Here’s the thing, and I want to be a little blunt with you. If anyone or anything in your life is telling you that your needs are not important or that you can’t take the time to actually take care of you because that’s not a priority and there’s other things that matter more. Well, I’m gonna be honest, that voice needs to be a little quieter in your life because you have to prioritize taking care of you.

It’s so important. Some people get it, and some people don’t. While, the people who get it oftentimes have more balance and feel a little bit more like their best self. On the other hand, those that don’t are constantly feeling less than because they’re putting so much pressure on themselves and they can’t keep up. Therefore, in order to truly live your best life, now is a great time to embark on prioritizing your own health and wellness. And these fun fall self care ideas on going to help you accomplish just that! 

10 Ways to Elevate Your Fall Self-Care Routine 

You absolutely deserve to take care of yourself and to treat yourself with kindness. Additionally, you will be a better human for that. You will be a better mom for it. Furthermore, you will be a better employee and business owner. You will be better because of it. And with that goal in mind, lets turn the attention to creating your very own fall self care routine.

Specifically, with different ideas on what to incorporate into your own daily routine and weekly schedule to be able to take a little more time for you. So that you can be that better version of yourself and continue to pour out all the love to those that are around you. Sharing a list of ten self-care activities to do throughout this fall season to really up level your own self-care routine.

I’m hoping that this list can give you some inspiration to help yourself reset and refocus on your own needs because they absolutely do matter.

Fall Self-Care Routine #1 –  Focus on building a morning routine 

The very first thing to add to your fall self-care routine this fall season is to focus on building a morning routine. One of the best ways you can really prioritize taking care of you is to really focus in on your own morning routine. Take time to reflect and assess on what your mornings look like.

And what are ways to really optimize that time to yourself in the morning? First, start off with making sure you are waking up first, before anyone else needs you.  Spend five minutes, 10 minutes, or 15 minutes with yourself.  Maybe that looks like enjoying a delicious cup of coffee with your favorite seasonal fall flavors, or your cup of tea.  Maybe your ideal morning is quiet time with a devotional, or journaling gratitude. 

Whatever your preferred way to start your day is, focus on mindfully preparing yourself for the day and stating some affirmations that you absolutely can do this. Therefore, a great way to elevate your fall self-care routine and take better care of yourself is through being incredibly intentional with your morning routine. 

2. Spend more time outside 

Another great way to really up level, and optimize your own fall self-care routine is to spend more time outside. Especially as the leaves and season changes, and the gorgeous fall landscape starts to take a presence in our backyard and in our local parks and community. Take that time to walk outside. Enjoy the beautiful fall foliage and the fresh air by spending more time outside. 

This can be something you do with your little ones in a stroller, or with the dogs, or by yourself. But take that time and find a oneness with nature. Go for a nature walk. Escape your to-do list for a few moments and get lost outdoors. It’s so important to be able to connect and get lost. Not actually lost, because that makes things a little bit more interesting, but separating yourself from your day and your daily routine and moving in the great outdoors.

It’s the long distance runner in me that just loves the feeling of a trail, especially during the fall season with the . cooler temperatures and the crisp air. Where the sights are even more beautiful. Therefore, definitely take advantage of the beautiful fall foliage this fall season and go for walks outside.

Fall Self-Care Routine #3. Take a relaxing bubble bath 

Another great way to focus in on your own self-care routine this fall season is to incorporate more bubble baths. Take a warm bath, with nice bubbles and some fun self-care products that you can utilize within your evening routine or your wind down routine. Focus in on a relaxing bath with essential oils or any sort of fall seasonal scent that can really help set that mood for a fall self-care routine. 

This is another really fun, great way of taking care of you. By taking the time to unwind. And as you unwind in the moment, make sure that you’re not bringing anything stressful into the situation. Leave your phone aside and truly focus in on something that brings you joy. Enjoy your warm bath with a good book or favorite fall beverage. Light your favorite fall-scented candle. Simply spend the time relaxing in a bubble bath as part of your fall self-care routine.

4. Create a cozy reading nook 

Speaking of books, the fourth fun, fall self care idea is to create a cozy reading nook. This can be something you do within your room or within the family room. Or maybe there’s a little breakfast nook area where you can add in a comfy, cozy blanket and a favorite stack of books. Complimented by your hot cup of coffee in the morning or tea, or hot apple cider in the evening. Spend some time to unwind and disconnect with a favorite book to read. 

I always love reading books for the perfectly suited for the season we are in. Additionally, I love looking through Goodreads for ideas on what to add to my current to-be read list. Therefore, find time this fall season to sit quietly and read a good book. This is such an important way to unwind and prioritize your own self-care, especially at the end of a really long and exhausting day.

Fall Self-Care Routine #5. Utilize seasonal recipes 

Next on the list of fun fall self-care ideas is to utilize seasonal recipes. An incredible part of self care is nurturing yourself and nourishing yourself with the right ingredients. Specifically, the right things that your body actually needs. Therefore, take the time to enjoy fall ingredients that really take that recipe up another level of enjoying the season. Spend time in the kitchen cooking a nourishing meal that utilizes all the perfect seasonal flavors of fall. This is a great way to prioritize your self-care this fall season. 

6. Focus on your skincare routine 

Another really great way to focus on your fall self-care routine this fall season is to focus on your skincare routine. Take the time to find your favorite products that you utilize for the cooler weather to stay hydrated and keep your skin feeling great. Incorporate your favorite skincare products, the kinds that make you feel like you are indulging in a life of luxury. Make that an important part of how you unwind in the evening.

Of course, organize everything in a way where everything is super neat and clutter free within your own bathroom. Find some products that you love that feel good that, nourish your skin and smell good.  This is an important way to help elevate your own fall self-care routine and prioritize taking better care of you. 

7. Refresh Your Fall Wardrobe 

The seventh way to focus on your own self-care routine this fall season is to embark on a quick and simple fall wardrobe refresh. Think of this as an opportunity to add some seasonal fall clothes to your wardrobe. Specifically, clothes that you can feel comfortable in, but also confident in. 

It’s so important when you prioritize taking care of yourself that you also do the things that are going to allow you to feel confident in who you are. And so, add in a few of your routine fall essentials to your wardrobe.

Give that wardrobe a little bit of a refresh so you can feel a little bit more confident in how you look and how you feel throughout the day. Another really great way to prioritize taking care of you this fall,

Fall Self-Care Routine #8. Have a digital detox 

Number eight may just be the one way to truly provide the most return for your time this fall season. Add to your own fall-self care routine a digital detox. Take some evenings during the week where you disconnect from all the screens and social media. Perhaps, plan a weekend where you’re not going to use your phone for anything other than maybe playing music or taking photos if you want to have the memories there. But take a social media detox and truly disconnect from all the things.

Give yourself that safe space, that mental safe space from all the things that the screens do to us and all the things that the apps do to us. Give your mind and heart a break from all the ways that our phones pull our attention and distract us. How they create lies of comparison, and everything else that is there. Just get rid of that for a day, or an evening, or a weekend. This is a really powerful way to prioritize taking care of you this fall season.

9. Utilize Fall Scented Candle and Aromatherapy 

The ninth way to elevate your fall self-care routine is to utilize aromatherapy. I love utilizing the power of scent, especially during the season of fall. Especially all of the pumpkin, cinnamon, the apple scent. Everything that smells so uplifting and comforting.

Finally, the tenth essential to your fall self-care routine. You cannot talk about taking care of yourself without focusing on the importance of gratitude journaling. Therefore, this fall season, take the time to really unwind and reflect on the things that you are grateful for.  Reflect on the things that you are thankful for. When you spend that time prioritizing you and taking care of you.

It’s so important to really deeply reflect and go inward and think, okay, what is it that I’m truly thankful for? What are the things that I am just so honored to have as part of my life, as a part of my daily routine, and as part of my household. Really focus on practicing gratitude because that is the birthplace of joy and that stimulates so many good wholesome feelings that can carry us through every season of life, no matter how hard or challenging or just how simple and sweet. Therefore, incorporate practicing gratitude as part of your daily self-care this fall.
