Seven Simple Secrets to Self-Care & Self-Love

Now, believe me I am all about working hard and serving the people around you, but somethings our human minds and hearts can only do so much and it is of the MOST importance for us to take the time to refuel and recharge. To self-care AND self-love. So sharing a few of my MOST FAVORITE and simple secrets to self-care and self-love.

Steps to Self-Care & Self-Love

So many moments throughout so many times of many different days, I think… how amazing it would be to sit and journal, sit and write, sit and read, sit and think… but usually something or someone or a long list of things I believe that I need to do, stands completely in the way.

But what if we just stopped more often, and actually allowed ourselves to do those things. We would be filled with more happiness and peace, and our minds would be able to rest. Believe it or not, we may find ourselves even more productive and efficient during our work day (whatever that day looks like) when we actually put a priority on our “me time”

Self-Care Step #1 – Enjoy the little things

What are your favorite most hidden treasures. The things that you do that completely fill you up. Make time to enjoy those things. At least once a week. Maybe you are a bubble bath and a glass of wine kind of gal OR maybe just maybe you find solace in the kitchen cooking or baking your favorite dish. Whatever it is… be sure to make it a priority.

2. Create a happy rest place.

Okay I know you may think this is a little strange, but it is oh so true. Where do you find rest!? On your bed, on the couch, a reading nook or a porch. Or even your favorite coffee shop! Wherever the place, be sure to make it count. Whether that is updating your bedding which I most recently did with Blue Bird Linens OR adding a splash of new pillows or blankets. Self-Care Step #3 – Diffuse & breathe happy

One of my absolute secrets and favorite keys to overall happiness, wellness, and peace are my Young Living essential oils. I am truly obsessed, so call this the oily life! But there is nothing like putting a fresh new essential oil blend in the diffuser to immediately boost your mood. 4. Create your own version of a spa

Sometimes you just have to accessorize the important areas in your house, and what is more important then the place that you get ready each morning and unwind each night. Self-Care Tip #5 – Love your skin & body well.

Treat yourself and your skin. Love well and live well. Take the time to make your skin a priority, I mean it is the largest organ we have and comes in contact with the most gunk every day, therefore it is absolutely essential that we treat it and protect it well.

And in a day and age where disease runs rampant and cancers strike everywhere, be sure that the products you are using are toxin and chemical free and be confident that what you are using on your body is only the best. Because you most absolutely deserve it.

6. Unplug & unwind.

Turn off your phone, remove the notifications and simply just BE with the ones around you. Whether that is your significant other, family, friends or your dog, be sure to spend the quality time where it matters the most… with each other. It’s okay to not know what is happening in the social media world and to be honest with you, you will actually be glad that you did! Enjoy all the moments AND unplugging and unwinding is a simple and sure way to achieve self-love and self-care!

7. Daily affirmations

Our words are so incredibly important. Our words hold power and truth. So take time (many times) throughout your day to speak truth constant truth over yourself. Yes you can! Yes, you are powerful! Yes you can do this, whatever the challenge is, whatever the dream is! You can do it! yes, I am capable! Yes, I am brave. Yes, I am strong. Yes, I can!
