Most definitely a fashion trend that hopefully is here to stay, 2020 has seen a fair share of MANY things, but I am absolutely thankful for the pillar that graphic t-shirts have provided for my personal wardrobe and for so many brands as well. Graphic t-shirts are SO fun. They are bold, creative and display more personality than your regular blouse or top and I just love how many different styles and designs are out there. This summer I have been LOVING wearing my graphic t-shirts from a local, Atlanta company, Millennial. I am so excited to team up with Millennial to share with you 5 Ways to Wear Graphic Tees in the Summer Heat.
When graphic tees meet the bike short you can expect to rock all kind of sporty + cute vibes. Not to mention biker shorts are incredibly comfortable and easy to adjust the length by either pulling the fabric further down or not). Biker shorts are the perfect complement to your summer graphic t-shirts. Plus, you can easily wear the graphic t-shirt long, partially tucked in, or tied in a knot. Whichever way you choose will be perfectly okay as biker shorts are the next best thing since jogger sweatpants.
Let’s just all take a moment to think about how we are going to try explain the fashion trends of 2020 to our kids one day in the future, “Well honey, you see it was all about what makes us comfortable, the jogger sweats, the biker shorts, the tie-dye everything.” These comfy biker shorts are Dress Up, just $12 and an easy must-have for your wardrobe.
Another VERY casual way to wear and style graphic t-shirts in the summer heat is to pair your favorite graphics with your favorite short denim. I recently am a big fan of the boyfriend and mom jean cut. Similar to how to wear with the biker shorts, graphic t-shirts can easily and fashionably be styled by either hanging loose, partial tucking the shirt or through tying a knot. Word of wisdom for those a big fan of knotting your shirts – always go up an extra size or two – it makes tying your shirt SO much easier!
These cute + classic distressed jean shorts are also from Dress Up. They are the mom cut and I would definitely recommend sizing up. Additionally, I always am a fan of Old Navy’s jean shorts as well. Sharing my favorite cuts and styles that you can shop below. And as always, when you do click on any of the links through my blog post and make a purchase, I do receive a tiny commission off of that. I greatly appreciate all of your support!
Another sassy + fun, perfect for date night option to wear with your graphic t-shirts is a denim skirt. I love how this denim skirt is distressed and weathered. Such a fun statement that can easily add character and dress up any of all outfits. Especially when rocking your favorite graphic tee.
Now, casual is great and all, but I am a firm believer that you can take the casual of graphic tees and dress them up to be a little more flirty and date-night worthy. I strongly encourage you to take your favorite graphic t-shirt and pair it with a sweet + styled pair of shorts. Whether it is a fun print or high-waisted hue, this is a simple and sweet way to show off your favorite graphic look.
There is nothing quite like experiencing the Georgia heat than in white denim and boyfriend jeans all while shooting pictures in 90 degree weather. Thank goodness that is over. However, wearing graphic tees with denim classics such as white denim jeans and your distressed boyfriend denim are excellent staples that can make any look office ready. Both versions of long denim here are Old Navy and staples in my closet year-round.
Finally, the last way to style a graphic t-shirt in the summer heat is to complement with accessories. This is especially good if you are heading out to eat and want to take a light jacket with you OR you are trying to dress to impress. Try adding a distressed denim jacket to pair with your graphic shirt OR step it up a major notch and go with a blazer. Trust me, you will find a whole new confidence level within yourself!
Well friends, there are my 5 ways to style a graphic t-shirt in the summer heat. I would love to hear what you think and which look is your favorite. Let me know in the comments below.
