Your Guide to an Intentional Month – Your Complete February Intentional To-Do List

February Intentional To-Do List

February may be the shortest month of the year, but that also means it has the potential to truly fly by. Between Valentine’s Day, anticipating the warmer weather as each day gets a few more minutes of sunlight. February has the potential for greatness, that is if we allow it to be a month to truly revive us.

Which is exactly where this intentional to-do list comes in. Different ways to live a more intentional life this month. So that you and your whole family can feel more peace and more purpose. While there are so many great things you can do to cultivate an intentional life, this February intentional to-do list is curated just for you!

Why an Intentional To-Do List Matters in February

Because that is what is so important here. To slow down the pace that we are living. Take the time to reflect and be honest with ourselves. Give grace, extenuating grace, that allows us to say that it’s okay. That things can be well and things can also be messy. But, we don’t have to give ourselves insane judgment or expectation, we can just simply be. And that is exactly the purpose behind this February intentional to-do list.

To Live A More Purposeful and Intentional Life

An intentional to-do list full of different ways to live in order to give you and your whole family a more purposeful and intentional life. A life that isn’t focused on checking all of the boxes and doing all of the to do’s. Nor a to-do list that promotes running from this place to next, overwhelmed and full of chaos. A to-do list that helps you stay more grounded and focused on the things that really, truly matter.

This is a big part of my heart. I love cultivating an intentional to-do list because it’s something that allows me to slow down as well. It allows me in the moments of crazy to give me purpose. These are the moments that ground me. The moments that can be truly appreciated.

9 Things To Do This February In Order to Live A More Intentional Life

There are nine things on this intentional to-do list for the month of February. Nine things for you to do during the shortest month of the year, full of cold weather and all things Valentine’s day. Fun things that include both mindset, as well as actionable things to do to have a more intentional month.

February Intentional To-Do List #1: Treat Yourself With Kindness

One of the best ways to live a more intentional life this month is to treat yourself with kindness. Take a moment and truly think what a difference it would make if you prioritized truly being kind to yourself, just as you do towards your family and those you care about. How often are we thinking not nice things about ourselves? How often do we think of how a situation may have went a certain way and instantly think negatively about ourselves. It’s more than just not speaking kind words over ourselves, but we very rarely treat ourselves with our own acts of kindness.

It so important in the month of February, especially when we focus on Valentine’s Day and all things love, to really focus in on the self love. Actually take the time to think how can I be kind to myself? How can I be kind to my heart? Additionally, how can I be kind to my mind and my emotions.  How can I be kind to my physical space and my physical body?

February is the perfect time to treat yourself with kindness. Maybe that’s incorporating more quiet time with a nice cup of tea and your favorite book or romance novel. Have your own kind of happy hour and pour yourself a small glass of wine. Make a bubble bath, pour in the Epsom salts. Step outside in the warmer weather, go for a nature walk. What are the unique experiences that you enjoy. Actually do the things that you truly love to do this month. Sit outside, drink your coffee without feeling rushed. Write a love letter to yourself to appreciate all that you are.

What Brings You Joy Physically

Think through the things that you know your body receives well, the things that your body thanks you for. What are things that are going to bring you joy physically. Something that you can get really excited about. That’s the first step to an intentional life this month, treat yourself with kindness.

Maybe it’s as simple as starting your day with looking at yourself in the mirror when you’re getting ready and speaking out positive affirmations. Look at yourself in the mirror, make that connection and say, “I got this. I’m proud of you. Today’s going to be a great day. You are capable, you are worthy, and you are going to do this. Let’s go.”

Treating yourself with kindness doesn’t have to be this grand gesture. It can truly be a simple word of affirmation to yourself. Therefore, this month is the perfect time to speak and treat yourself with kindness.

February Intentional To-Do List #2: Think Practically Through Situations

Now this second item on the February intentional to-do list is a little different, but definitely something that can help encourage a more intentional lifestyle. Another great way to live more intentionally this month is to think practically through situations. I am well aware how crazy things can feel and overwhelming they can be in moments. There are so many different ways people to attempt to cope through it all. It can be so easy to let chaos, stress, clutter win. To let the things that need to get done with minimum time in your day and to feel burnt out. To want to just sit down and tune it all out, because there is no other way to process all the things.

But one of the best things we can do for ourselves in these stressful and overwhelming moments is to focus on thinking practically. The perfect time for this to happen is when you step away from the situation and look at things from an outsider point of view. Take a moment to look at things from a different perspective. When you step away from the situation you are able to see things in different ways. Which allows you to assess how things are going without taking the feelings and emotions into account.

It allows you to brainstorm and determine the best ways to handle the situation you are in. When you step outside of the chaos, you can take a look and think practically about the best way to eliminate the stress? It gives us a little more clarity on the best ways to be able to manage all of the things.

Think Practically Through Situations and Identify the Most Pressing Concern

Therefore, it’s important to think practically through situations and identify the most pressing concern? This can be something you can do individually or with the whole family. Think through, what’s the number one issue currently going on? Then, think through a quick way to fix it. What’s going to help it? What’s going to make it easier? Additionally, what’s going to make it better?

It may be the shortest month of the year, but February is the perfect time to be able to take the struggles the challenges and apply this to your life this month. Think through the following questions:

1. What’s currently your biggest stress?

2. What’s currently the thing that’s causing you to get worked up the most?

Think Through Things Practically and Determine One to Alleviate the Stress

Think through it practically. Figure out what would be the one way instantly to alleviate all the pain, worry, and stress? Then brainstorm how that can be achieved. What are different ways to reach that peace. How can you start chipping away to get that thing done?

This is so important to be on the intentional to do list for the month of February. To slow down and think more practically through the different parts of your day. This will allow you to get done what needs to get done. And as a result, you will feel less stress. As well as feel more purposeful, living with more intention as you think more practically about your day and the season of life you are in.

February Intentional To-Do List #3 – Build Moments of Joy Throughout Your Day

That brings us to number three on the intentional to do list. A great way to cultivate a more intentional life is to build more moments of joy throughout your day. Think through your day and figure out a good point where you could use a little pick me up. What’s a time in your day where you could use a little mind boost.

Maybe that’s listening to your favorite song that always puts you in a really good mood. Or maybe you have a sweet little snack or some sweet treats that bring you happiness. Sometimes food can do that, boost our mood. Or maybe building more moments of joy throughout the day looks like curling up with a romance novel and your favorite warm cup of tea. Or maybe building more moments of joy in your day involves slowing down with the whole family and playing your favorite board games, or just unplugging from the world and tuning into each other.

Create Little Moments Throughout Your Day To Do The Things You Love To Do

This month is the perfect time to create little moments throughout your day where you do the things that are going to make you happy. The things that are going to bring joy. Things that you love, things that give you that life within you. This month, build more of those moments throughout your day because that is something we absolutely all need.

We need to feel more joy. So create it. Look for joy in the little moments, in story time with your little one. Look for joy in the moments full of the whole family. Therefore, this month is the perfect time to embrace more joy by building in little joyful moments throughout your day.

#4 – Postpone looking at your phone first thing in the morning

Another great way to live a more intentional life thius month is to postpone looking at your phone first thing in the morning. The winter months can definitely be more challenging on our mental and emotional health. Which is exactly why February, the coldest month of the year, is a great time to work on not looking at your phone first thing in the morning. While, I know it can be so tempting, especially when your alarm is going off and you’re hitting the snooze button over and over again. It can be so easy to want to lay there and scroll social media to help wake yourself up.

However, it’s not doing any good nor any benefit for you. Instead, by looking at your phone first thing in the morning, it’s actually putting your mind in a really unhealthy place. When you focus on cultivating an intentional and purposeful life for the month of February, one of the best things that we can do is focus on how we want to start your day.

Dream for a moment. What does your ideal way to start the day look like? How do you want to fuel yourself first thing in the morning. Focus on the action of not looking through your phone as soon as you wake up and instead jump out of bed and get yourself ready.

Start Your Day with Great Purpose

There are so many great things you can do to start your morning that don’t involve looking at your phone. Stay off of your phone, don’t allow social media to be the first thing that consumes your thoughts during the day. Move your body, drink some water, spend time reflecting, meditating, or work through a devotional. Give yourself a quick refresh that you need.

Nothing has to be super grand or super elaborate. But do take the time to avoid and postpone as much as possible looking at your phone first thing in the morning. Save that for later and start your day off with greater intention, instead.

February Intentional To-Do List #5 – Journal at Night

Fifth on the list for intentional living for the month of February is to journal more at night. Journaling is a great way to allow your body to process all the things that need to be processed. And journaling at night is a great time to allow yourself to wind down your mind before getting ready to go to bed.

Make a note in your planner to keep track of the how many nights you journal for simple curiousity sake. Then assess to see what kind of difference that makes in your life. Journaling is one of the free things you can do prioritize better emotional and mental health for yourself.

The important thing here is to simply journal more for a curiousity sake. Does it help? Is this something that you feel is helping you calm down and reset your mind?  Does it help you sleep better because you can take your thoughts, feelings and worries and put them on paper. Think through how spending more time journaling is affecting you. This month is the perfect time to prioritize taking better care of yourself. Therefore, take a little time this month and spend more moments journaling. T

#6 – Find a new favorite outfit

Another fun way to spend a more intentional February is to find a new favorite outfit. It can be more challenging during the winter months, especially in the cold weather to figure out outfits that you feel comfortable with. However, you don’t have to wait until the warmer weather to start dressing more confidently. Now is the perfect time to find a new favorite outfit to make the most of your February. Plus, the month of Valentine’s Day absolutely deserves a new favorite outfit to wear.

Therefore, this month, find a new favorite outfit. This doesn’t have to be something that you buy. Have an informal scavenger hunt through your closet and see what you already have. From there, find a new favorite outfit something that you feel really good. An outfit that boosts your confidence. Where you physically feel confident based on what we are wearing.

When you do that it’s going to unlock so much more for yourself. It’s going to give you more purpose in your day. And more confidence in everything that you’re doing and how you think about yourself and the actual actions that you take. Not only does a confident self benefit you, but also the whole family. Therefore, a great way to live with more purpose and intention this month is to find a new favorite outfit.

February Intentional To-Do List #7 – Chase the sunshine

Next on the list of things to do on your February intentional to-do list is to chase the sunshine. We often forget how badly we are in need of the sunshines, especially during the winter months. However, now is the best time to prioritize getting outside and letting the sunshine refuel and revive us. Create more moments of sunshine this month and allow that sunshine to radiate through you. Allow the sunshine to boost your mood in the best way.

Prioritize spending more moments outside this month. What are fun activities that you can easily shift to the outdoors? Go on a nature walk, or explore your favorite local trail. Especially if you find yourself lucky with milder weather, grab a coffee from your favorite local coffee shop and sip it outside in the sunshine. Get the kids moving and your body moving in the outdoors, chasing the sunshine this February.

Be still in the sunshine and allow that to really rejuvenate you and replenish nutrients within your body. Allow yourself to fully come alive and your spirit be fully woken up by the sunshine this month. A great place to be this month is outdoors. Therefore, allow yourself to spend more time in the sun, more time outside and feel the rejuvenation that brings. This is a really great way to live with more intention, by spending more moments outside this month.

#8 – Indulge in something sweet

A fun way to spend time on this February’s intentional to-do list is to indulge in something sweet. There is something about the winter season that makes me want more sweet treats. I definitely have a sweet tooth, and love all the sweet treats. Additionally, I firmly believe it is necessary and and fun to treat ourself from time to time, especially during the coldest month of the year. Therefore, why not put that on your to do list for the month of February. Indulge in the sweet treats and allow this be something that you can truly look forward to.

Whether it’s going out to a special dessert place that you really love. Or making something super fun at home. Bonus points for getting the kids involved. In order to live a more intentional life this month, indulge in something sweet. This is a great way to prioritize doing the things that you love and the things that we appreciate. We need more of those moments in our life. And it’s so important to be able to carry them with us through the month of February.

February Intentional To-Do List #9 – Try Something New This Month

Finally, the last item on the list of intentional things to do in February is to try something new. A great way to cultivate a more intentional life is to spend time trying something new. This month do something completely new. Something you normally wouldn’t have done before. Or maybe something that you used to think is something you would not enjoy. Go ahead and try it anyways this month.

For the longest time, I made a terrible assumption thinking that I would not like audiobooks. I don’t know why I thought that this would be the case, but for some reason I was just against it. However, one of the books that I enjoyed reading last year had a sequel that came out only on audiobook format, so I listened to it and absolutely LOVED it.

Talk about a way to completely transform your morning and evening commute. Now, if you love audiobooks, I recently discovered the app, Libby which syncs up to your local library using your library card and allows you to check out audiobooks through their inventory. A great way to listen to even more audiobooks and supporting the local community.

The Importance in Trying Something New

Which goes to show that you are never going to know how you really feel about something unless you try it out. Therefore, important reminder to not make judgment before you get there. Because when you try something new, it’s a perfect opportunity to realize new things that help make you, you! Life is a beautiful journey and it’s important to discover new things about yourself. To find joy in a few more places that you might not have found it before.

Therefore this month, be sure to take time and try something new. Whether that is exploring new local restaurants, or finding a new hobby, there are so many fun things possible when you try something new. Therefore, make it a priority this month to try something new and to bring the whole family involved. Not only will you have a great time, but you will learn more about yourself in the process, all while prioritizing living in the moment. Which is exactly what the intentional to-do list is all about.
