It’s the eve of the Fourth of July (is that even a thing) and this is my very first specifically style related blog post about the fourth of July (which as already stated is TOMORROW!) ha.. so my post on outfit inspiration for the 4th has become specifically targeted for all of you last minute friends out there who are still looking to find that next best thing. Well, hopefully this post can serve as some inspiration and encouragement for you!
Sometimes I wish I could wear the combos of red, white & blue all the time. As a history teacher, maybe that is just me feeling patriotic, but I do have to say I am quite a fan of those colors and extend the July 4th celebrations longer to continue to wear these summer vibes (seriously) all summer long!
To prepare for the holiday festivities, I have been clinging to a few of my favorite summer essentials to endorse yet another glorious celebration of our country and freedom, oh how sweet it is.
I found the sweetest two-piece set earlier this summer at Dress Up. I have absolutely adored this two-piece set (as it is actually the first two piece set I have worn and purchased since probably the age of three) and I have loved finding so many different outfit creations over the course of the last several weeks. So, I strongly encourage you bold go-getters, to pick up a two piece set from one of your favorite retailers and have an absolute blast at finding all the different ways to wear & share your favorite styles!
These shorts pictured above are another score of the summer from the Loft outlet, they were BOGO 50% so I have a similar pair in red. I absolutely adore the bow and the scalloped hem. Precious and perfect to pair with a white tank or blouse for the 4th.
Additionally, to continue this burst of blue & white, another tank that I have been wearing ALL summer long is another oldie from Loft, but (GREAT news) I have linked a similar style that is current from J. Crew Factory and on major sale. (Just scroll ALL the way down to my current fashion obsessions to see) Love chambray and absolutely love tying the ends of tanks/shirts/blouses to add some major character. If you haven’t already tried this major trend, well you should get a move on, plus I find it very flattering along the waistline, and don’t we all want to feel good about our waistline! Am I right?!
Moving along through this outfit ensemble, let me talk about this skirt. It’s been awhile since I have worn a denim skirt (probably since high school..yikes) but this one from xomandysue is the best. It fits perfect (wearing size small for reference) and is perfect with so many different outfit options as you can notice. Shoes: stellar find from Old Navy… and currently on sale for $15.00 (reg. price $20) fits great & actually super comfortable for a sandal ~ absolutely perfect for summer time. Plus they have this same style sandal in multiple colors if blue isn’t your color.
I hope you have the very best fourth of July and hope that your day consists of sun, some form of water, family & friends, good food, and a deep appreciation and grateful heart for our country’s sweet freedom and a true sense of understanding and wisdom of what freedom and independence truly mean.

I love how you’ve styled these outfits, and I particularly like the scalloped edge shorts and that denim skirt. My favourite style has to be the final photo at the end of the post, really summery and flattering.
You certainly look summer ready! ???? Lpve your selections, right down to your Old Navy Shoes ???? Plus, sometimes, you’ve gotta let intuition arrive … and go with it. PERFECT! ????????????

Oh these outfits are lovely! ???? I love how they are patriotic without being so red, white and blue that they’re blinding.
So cute! I’m loving those blue shorts. The scallop design on the bottom is just adorable. 🙂

These are so cute and how cool is a two piece set that you can mix and match!
Cute outfit. I should have looked at this yesterday before I went to a 4th of July party. My shirt was totally out of style. Ugh. I hate it when I do that.
Love these outfits! I’m always looking for patriotic or holiday themed wears!
We were in the US last 4th July and had a ball dressing up for the occasion – we even found the kids red, white and blue swimmers!
Great! Mine will be all red..:P
