12 Books to Read in 2023

A goal that I have for myself for 2023 is to spend more time reading. I have always loved to read, and when I commit to a book, and it is good, I am fully there, present in it, until it is complete. I love what reading does to my mind. And I love how reading a book can inspire me and empower me to dream an even bigger dream. While, nothing can stop me when I am completely absorbed in a good thriller novel, I do love to feel encouraged through books sharing wisdom and encouragement. That is my hope right here. To share with you the 12 books that I have on my list to read in 2023. 12 books that are full of inspiration and encouragement to live the life desired in 2023.

This has been on my list for the last couple of years. I am so eager to get my hands on this (it currently is in my husband’s library in his office in the basement. I have been waiting and waiting to read this one. And I think the delay has been I know my entire world is going to flip once I read about Atomic Habits. Therefore, I am going to start off 2023 with Atomic Habits on my reading list.

2. Magic of Motherhood – Ashlee Gadd

Another book that has been sitting on my bookshelf, the Magic of Motherhood by Ashlee Gadd. This read simply looks encouraging. I am excited to read this and be encouraged to find more peace and moments of present while mothering this year! If you would also love to be encouraged in motherhood, definitely add Magic of Motherhood to your 2023 reading list.

3. Good Boundaries and Goodbyes – Lysa Terkeurst

Third on the list of books to read in 2023 is Good Boundaries and Goodbyes by Lysa Terkeurst. This one is a little different for the list as it specifically deals with establishing healthy boundaries in relationships and offers spiritual wisdom to protect your heart in the many different relationships of life. As someone who always desires to honor and respect my relationships. From relationships with my husband, to our family, and friends, there are so many nuggets of wisdom to learn about how to establish healthy boundaries. Definitely will be adding Good Boundaries and Goodbyes to my reading list in 2023.

9. Cold Tangerines – Shauna Niequist –

Next on our 2023 reading list is Cold Tangerines by Shauna Niequist. Okay, this one is an oldie as it was published in 2010. In fact, I remember taking this book with me on a summer beach trip a few years after that. Now, the reality is I always bring eight plus books with me on any given beach vacation, so of course, this is one that actually has not been read yet. Which is why I thought it would be a perfect addition to read in 2023. The cover simply says, “celebrating the extraordinary nature of everyday life” and that statement alone is something that resonates so deeply to my core every single day! And it is for that reason Cold Tangerines is on my 2023 reading list.

10.  Loving Our Kids on Purpose – Danny Silk –

I am always wanting to improve and learn on ways to be a better parent. I want my quality time spent with my son to be intentional. Additionally, I want my son to know just how much I love him and how I am here for him unconditionally. Another book added to my 2023 reading list is Loving Our Kids on Purpose by Danny Silk.

11. Change Your Schedule, Change Your Life – Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar

Another great addition to your 2023 reading list is Change Your Schedule, Change Your Life by Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar. Now, if you are someone who desires to find ways to maximize your productivity and make the most of every single day then this book is for you. Dr. Kshirsagar talks all about circadian rhythms and how understanding these rhythms is essential to living our best lives! I believe there is so much wisdom in store in Change Your Schedule, Change Your Life. This would make another incredible read for 2023.

12. Burning Bright – Kelsey J. Patel

Finally, last on the list of 12 encouraging and inspiring books to read in 2023 is Burning Bright by Kelsey J. Patel. This has been on my list since last summer to read as it shares techniques on how to revolutionize your own self-care routines in order to get your body, emotions, and complete health and wellness operating in total alignment. The reviews share how Burning Bright passes along wisdom, encouragement, and tools to change thought patterns to find freedom in daily living. I am here for all of this and cannot wait to see what happens to my own thoughts and mind after I read Burning Bright this year!
