Two days. Two glorious days until Christmas. But in reality, Christmas has already begun. Christmas is more than just a morning, or a dinner, Christmas is a season that lasts much longer than lunch on Christmas eve to after dessert drinks on Christmas night. Christmas is a season, a season of thankfulness, a season of love, a season full of grace and acceptance, a season celebrating the life and the light that this life means. I have been enjoying this precious holiday time with all sorts of puppy cuddles and Hallmark movie marathons, mulled wine and hot chocolate, Christmas light gazing and carol singing, and just soaking up all the precious time with the ones that I absolutely love the most.
One of my absolute favorite things about Christmas time is the decorating. I try to embark on decorating as much as possible, to create our home to be a set on a Hallmark Christmas movie and every year, my only regret is that I should have started the decorating process earlier. I usually would always wait until Thanksgiving night to put up the Christmas tree and begin decorating. And so of course this year, that is when the decorating began. But, I always wish the Christmas cheer started earlier, because I just love this season oh so much, so I think next year that most definitely will happen, and just think if the decorating happens earlier then I can have my Holiday Home Tour up well before two days before Christmas.
So I am just going to be completely real and honest right now… while the downstairs of my home looks and feels like close to Christmas cheer – our upstairs has been covered in laundry and gift wrapping explosion. And our outside of our house… well the day I hung our wreaths we had some pretty serious wind and half of our wreaths were blown off, including a favorite stream of garland (that I still cannot find) and the best part of this story is I have yet to put the wreaths back up! Literally, we have four windows and only two have wreaths in the most asymmetrical way possible ~ I am absolutely sure that our neighbors must be super annoyed. Ha! Oh and to top off the feelings of lack of togetherness – a major strand of Christmas lights right in the center of our Christmas tree have been out for a couple of weeks, and I have yet to bother fixing them, simply because un-decorating the tree just to redecorate seems like a little much.
But hey… this is life and it is what make the moments absolutely worth living. So now… without further ado… our Christmas Home Tour.
I love what an entryway can do; a place to welcome and gather those to your home. A place to say, “hey, stay awhile, come in and have a seat!” I just love it. I love the ability to take a small space and add character and a personal touch. To give your entire home’s feel away in just a moments step.
I may have gone slightly over board with this fence and holiday decor, but I absolutely love it! SO much joy and SO much Christmas spirit.
TJ Maxx and Marshalls always have the best Christmas gear. This throw is from a few years ago, but their holiday pillow gear is still just as strong.
I just love this wreath and gather sign. This wreath and gather found a new home in our house this season and I am just thrilled with how it has turned out. The wreath used to be in our dining room and the gather was just hanging on all way, but I combined them to be featured over this window display in our entryway. And funny story, as I was decorating it all the day after Christmas, eagerly and quickly trying to decorate all the Christmas and get the house clean and food ready for our day two of Thanksgiving festivities that we were hosting, the entire wall display fell to the ground, scratching the wall and so despite the startle, I had to rewire all the picture hanging wire just to get this secure. But hey, I had a whole new level of appreciation for this feature afterwards.
Our dining room is a unique feature to our house. We completely “fixed it up” if you can ever call that a thing when you have a new build. But we painted the walls a Benjamin Moore “Owl Grey” and shiplapped an accent wall. Dressed up the room with all things antique furnishings and a finishing touch of a rug that now has a permanent stink of dog pee (we are only human) but I take so much delight in decorating this room with all things white winter. My own little winter wonderland. Full of white pumpkins, white Christmas trees and a little sparkle of gold.
The kitchen. The heart of the home and the calories. Where endless baking and gingerbread house making and winter mules and hot cocoa reside. This little breakfast nook is my absolute favorite. A corner of joy and peace. A center of simplicity. And more pillows, because I seriously have a pillow problem. Merry and Bright was a well-worth it holiday spend from Magnolia, the Joy was a recent find from Kirklands. And La, La, La was a Marshalls find from a year or so back.
I am all about the garland. Garland everywhere. Mix and match, berries and greenery galore. Also, this sign from Target was in the bargain section and of course, I do what I always do while in Target, and added it to the cart.

Can I just take a moment to talk about this garland and the stone archway. Yes, our stone archway is probably my absolute favorite part of our entire home! It was something we were able to custom design when we first built this place we treasure so much and it is just a focal point for us and our living space. So, every Christmas season I have dreamed of having the perfect garland to drape and fall along the archway and every year before this year it has been the absolute worst struggle. But this year, I was determined and found the solution with real garland and twine and nails. Only a few close falls off the ladder and dropped nails that were discovered before Shiloh (our dog) found them. But let me tell you the complete satisfaction of having something you have wanted for so long to be apart of your home. Ah, it is such a great feeling.
Another wall of our home that I love to change with each new season. Seriously, my favorite. With this stunning wall clock, love what this wall does to our entire family room. Just add some Christmas signs, Christmas trees, and Christmas stems galore, and you are all set.
And there ya have it friends ~ our holiday home tour. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you find some inspiration for this year and next. Have the very best holiday with the people you love most.
xo. Haley
