Oh, the seasons are actually changing, and my heart feels like more joy is actually possible now that we have entered into the beautiful month of October. I believe Octobers can be full of hope, of excitement, and of joy, and it is my intention for you to feel the very same way this month. I believe it is truly possible. Which is exactly why I am so excited to share with you the October intentional to do list. Specifically, the six things to add to your to-do list this month. In order for you to live from a place full of more joy, more purpose, and more contentment.
Doesn’t it feel so good to be living in the month of October? I seriously am so happy for October. There is something that is absolutely magical about the seasons truly changing and the anticipation for all the amazing things to come.
I believe that Octobers are full of hope, of excitement, and of joy, and it is my intention for you to feel the very same for this month. Therefore, I am bringing you the October Intentional To Do List, your curated to-do list of the exact things you should be consumed with for the month of October. Specific things to do throughout the month of October in order to truly embrace a more intentional life.
I am a huge fan of intentional to-do list. Especially when it comes to the seasons. Be sure to check out the complete Fall Intentional To-do List as well as download your completely free Fall Intentional To-do List checklist. What I love so much about the intentional to-do list series, is the intention to curate a more intentional lifestyle.
Specifically, a to-do list to provide you with encouragement and excitement for intentional living. To serve as a reminder to slow down and celebrate all the moments in between. A to-do list for you to live your best life this month. And on this month’s October to-do list, I am sharing six specific things to be sure to do this month in order to make this intentional life possible.
The very first thing to do in October in order to live a more intentional life is to be present in the moment. Truly, be more present in the moments that you live. It can be so easy to look ahead to all the things that happen at the end of the year. All the holidays, the fun festivities, the important to dos. So easy to focus on everything that has to get done. However, when we do that, we miss out on so much living when we forget to be present in the moment.
Therefore, make it an intention, a very specific priority this month, to be more present in each moment. The great moments, the amazing moments. Even the hard moments. But, make it a point to practice that mindfulness and to practice being okay with where you are. Give yourself permission to not feel the tendency or the urge to be doing something. Resist the urge to check your phone or run to the next item on your to-do list. Spend time this month and practice being present and appreciating where you are in every moment.
The second essential thing to do throughout October is to set a realistic and measurable goal for yourself for the end of the year. October means only three months left of the year. Three months before we start asking ourselves the honest questions about what we accomplished in the year. (Or maybe avoid asking that question because we don’t really want to come face to face with the honest answer).
Either way, now is the best time to set a realistic and measurable goal for yourself. A goal that you can work on achieving by the end of the year. Is it health related? Body image related? Work related? Family related? Business related? Personal? Communal? Whatever your desire is, set a realistic and measurable goal for yourself.
Additionally, break down the steps to help you get there. It is absolutely possible for you to reach your goals and chase your dreams. And it can absolutely be done within the timeframe of the rest of the year. Therefore make it a priority this month to set a realistic and measurable goal for yourself.
The third thing to do in October is to spend more moments outside. Embrace the concept of outdoor living this month. Is there a space in your home that is equipped for doing life outdoors? Spend more time there. Can you have your morning coffee on the porch? Have a meal on the back deck? Go for a walk or two?
Think about what you can do to add more purposeful moments of living spent outdoors this month. Your heart and your mind will thank you. We are meant to live moments outside. Being outdoors is such a powerful reminder that we are fully alive. Therefore, for the month of October, make it a priority to spend more moments outside.
The fourth thing to do in October is to embrace the real you. Allow this month be the month where you are unapologetically yourself. Let this month be the month that you own your feelings and your emotions and don’t think less of yourself because of it. Give yourself permission to be fully okay and content with where you are as the very real you, all parts of the very real you. No apologizing. Just be the full you, exactly as you are.
The you that you are in your moments of greatness and the you in your moments of weakness. As well as the you in all the moments in between. Let this month be the month where you work on accepting yourself as you are. Embrace the real you. Not looking ahead to different things you may think you need. But instead, find contentment and peace where you currently are.
There’s so much joy and victory to be had once you get to that spot of fully embracing the real you and I believe with all of my heart that that is possible for you this month.
Fifth on your list of things to do in October is to do the things that bring you joy and do them often. Live a life full of more joy this month. So often we are overfilling our schedules, our days and weeks, with all the things that need to get done.
Believe me, one of the very things that actually does bring me joy is writing down an obnoxious to do list with a ridiculous amount of things on your list. However, the reality is we have to be able to find moments in our day and moments in our lives where we stop and actually do the things that bring us joy.
Even if it is a super small task, or for just a second or two. It is essential to find ways to bring more joy in our daily life. Therefore, this month, do the things that bring you joy and do them often. If you’re the person who loves to make a list and write things down in your planner, well then, jot down a quick list of the things that bring you joy. Make a note in your planner for the month, either on your month spread for October or your weekly spread, and create a little checklist for yourself to do those specific things. The things that bring you joy.
Finally, number six, add a few cozy weather staples to your closet. October is the best time to refresh your fall wardrobe. It is finally that time of year where the weather is a little cooler. Of course, in Georgia, the mornings feel like a completely different season than the afternoons do.
Regardless, we feel a little more like our best selves when we are adorned in our favorite wardrobe of all things cozy. Therefore, add to your collection a new cozy pair of joggers or oversized hoodie. Maybe a pair of campfire socks. Something that allows you to feel more like that best kept version of yourself. This month be sure to add a few cozy weather staples to your closet, to truly make the most out of how you feel throughout the month of October.
There you have it. A quick six tips of six things to do this month to really make sure your October is full of purpose and intentional living. A month full of more joy and more reflection and more acceptance of who you are and where you are at. I hope you feel like you can thrive this month of October.
That even through the busy, and through the chaos, that you can find a peace and a purpose in living in the present. Living in the everyday moments. Additionally, that you cling to joy as much as possible. Wishing you the very best day and cheering you on every single step of the way.
